What does giving back mean to your company?
At Dr. Natural, giving back means using our business to create opportunities, promote inclusion, and make quality personal-care products accessible to more people. We believe a company can positively affect its community through the products it offers, the partnerships it builds, and the values it incorporates into its daily operations.
How do you encourage your employees or business partners to participate in the causes your company cares about?
We integrate social responsibility into the way we conduct business. One important example is our partnership with the Center for Vocational Rehabilitation (CVR), which produces our product packaging and provides meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with special needs. By working with organizations that share our values, we encourage our employees and business partners to view inclusion, sustainability, and community support as essential parts of our company’s mission.
Can you tell us about your company’s community involvement this year and some of the ways you have worked to make a difference?
This year, we have continued our partnership with CVR to support an inclusive workforce in which approximately 75% of the employees involved are individuals with special needs. Through this partnership, our product packaging helps create meaningful employment opportunities, build independence, and promote greater inclusion in the workplace. We also work to make high-quality, plant-based personal-care products accessible at affordable prices. Our products are cruelty-free and made with USDA-certified biobased ingredients. By combining affordability with environmentally conscious practices, we aim to support the well-being of families while reducing our environmental impact.
What is one lesson your company has learned through its community involvement that you hope to carry forward?
We have learned that community involvement can be most effective when it is incorporated directly into everyday business operations. Our partnership with CVR demonstrates that even an essential business function, such as product packaging, can create meaningful employment opportunities and lasting social value. We hope to carry this lesson forward by continuing to seek partnerships that promote inclusion and make a measurable difference.
In what ways do you believe businesses in the beauty and personal care industry can use their influence to make a positive difference in their community?
Businesses in the beauty and personal care industry can make a positive difference by creating inclusive employment opportunities, supporting community organizations, sourcing ingredients responsibly, reducing their environmental impact, and making safer products accessible at reasonable prices. The industry also has a powerful platform that can help educate consumers about sustainability, ethical sourcing, cruelty-free practices, and responsible self-care. When companies align their operations with these values, they can improve individual well-being while contributing to healthier and more inclusive communities.
