What does giving back mean to your company?
Giving back means being part of the community that supports us. We don’t want to be known just as a corporate entity — we want to be a company that shows up and makes a difference where we can. It doesn’t always have to be something huge. Sometimes it’s giving our time, donating products, supporting a cause, or simply bringing our employees together to help someone else. For us, it’s about being intentional and remembering that we have a responsibility to the community around us.
How do you encourage your employees or business partners to participate in the causes your company cares about?
We try to make it easy for everyone to participate by giving people different ways to get involved. Not everyone can volunteer outside of work, so we also create opportunities right here at ECO STYLE. For example, we’re currently collecting pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House, with containers placed throughout the warehouse so everyone can take part. It’s a small, simple way for every employee to contribute. Then we have larger initiatives, like signing up for the Heart Walk, where we come together as a team outside of work. We think it’s important to make people feel included and show them that no contribution is too small. When people understand what we’re doing and why, they’re more likely to want to be a part of it.

Can you tell us about your company’s community involvement this year and some of the ways you’ve worked to make a difference?
We’ve done several things this year that we’re really proud of. One of our favorites was going out as a team to cook and serve meals at Sulzbacher Center for the homeless. We served over 300 people, and it was a great experience because our employees were there hands-on, serving and interacting with people in our community. Right now, we’re collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House, with collection containers throughout our warehouse so our entire team can participate. Later this year, we’ll participate in the Heart Walk and connect with the Salvation Army through their Angel Tree program for children in need. We’re also excited to support the Latinas in Marketing event this September, and we’re building a future partnership with The Braid Drive Collection to support their braid station at the IRONMAN World Championship Expo in Kona this October. We’ve donated ECO STYLE products to different communities throughout our county, as well as collecting food for another food drive this holiday season. Giving back also means supporting our own ECO STYLE family. This year we sponsored our teammate Linda’s daughter’s volleyball team, a fun way to show up for one of our own employees and her community outside of work. It’s a smaller gesture, but it matters just as much to us as the larger efforts. For us, it’s really about finding different ways to give back — sometimes that’s our time, sometimes it’s donating products or resources, and sometimes it’s simply bringing people together for a good cause.

What is one lesson your company has learned through its community involvement that you hope to carry forward?
What we’ve learned is that you don’t have to do something huge to make an impact — sometimes you just have to show up. When we served over 300 people, it wasn’t just about providing a meal. It was our employees taking the time to serve someone else, together. Even something as small as collecting a pop tab can turn into something much bigger when an entire company participates. That’s something we’ll carry forward: keep showing up, keep looking for opportunities to help, and do what we can with what we have.
In what ways do you believe businesses in the beauty and personal care industry can use their influence to make a positive difference in their community?
The beauty and personal care industry has a unique opportunity because so much of what we do is connected to how people feel about themselves. Beauty is about more than looking good — it can be about confidence, self-care, and feeling good about who you are. As a company, we can use that influence by supporting the communities that support us, whether through donating products, volunteering, supporting local organizations and causes, or using our platform to bring awareness to something important. Because we have products people can actually use, giving back can be as simple as getting those products into the hands of people who need them. We believe our impact shouldn’t only be measured by what we sell or how much we grow — it should also be measured by how we show up for people and the community around us.
