What does giving back mean to your company?
Giving back to us means using what we’ve built to create opportunities for other people. Our company was built through the beauty industry, so we feel a responsibility to pour back into the same community that has supported us. Sometimes that means education, providing products, supporting stylists, or simply sharing knowledge that can help someone grow their career or business. For us, giving back isn’t always about writing a check—it’s about asking, “What do we have that could help someone else move forward?”

How do you encourage your employees or business partners to participate in the causes your company cares about?
We try to make giving back part of our company culture instead of something we only talk about during special occasions. Our team understands that when we show up in a community, we’re representing more than a product—we’re representing our values. We encourage everyone we work with to share their knowledge, support other beauty professionals, participate in community initiatives, and look for opportunities to help. I also believe leadership starts at the top, so I try to lead by example.

Can you tell us about your company’s community involvement this year and some of the ways you’ve worked to make a difference?
This year, a major focus for us has been education and accessibility. We’ve continued creating educational content for consumers and beauty professionals, providing hands-on opportunities for stylists, and helping people better understand how to care for their hair and scalp. We’ve also used our platforms to highlight and work with hairstylists and content creators at different stages of their careers. I believe giving someone education, exposure, an opportunity to create content, or a chance to develop a new skill can have an impact far beyond one moment. Our goal is to continue finding ways to connect our brands with real people and real needs in the beauty community.

What is one lesson your company has learned through its community involvement that you hope to carry forward?
One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is to listen before deciding what people need. After being in the beauty industry for many years, it can be easy to assume you already know the answer. But communities change, the industry changes, and people’s needs change. Sometimes what someone needs most isn’t a donation—it may be education, mentorship, exposure, access to a professional opportunity, or simply someone willing to share information with them. Moving forward, we want to continue listening first and then finding meaningful ways to help.

In what ways do you believe businesses in the beauty and personal care industry can use their influence to make a positive difference in their community?
The beauty industry has an incredible amount of influence because beauty is connected to confidence, identity, culture, and how people feel about themselves. I believe companies have a responsibility to use some of that influence for more than selling products. We can educate consumers, support beauty professionals, create opportunities for entrepreneurs, promote responsible product use, and use our platforms to amplify people who may not otherwise have that exposure. Social media has given beauty brands a direct connection to millions of people. If we have the power to influence what someone buys, we also have the power to influence what they learn and what they believe is possible for themselves. That’s something I believe our industry should take seriously.
